There are two of these within the climate control unit.  One for the fan control and the other for the temperature control.  The temperature control slider incorporates a detent plunger, spring, and ball bearing.  The ball bearing provides tactile feedback while moving it and the detent plunger engages at either end of the motion range.  The fan control slider incorporates a spring and ball bearing, but the fan switch itself provided the position detents.  An optical light guide provides a path for light to illuminate the knob.  There is also a spring clip on the slider that appears to keep the slider from rattling.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis part is only the slider itself.  The other components must be reused from the original slider being replaced.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis part is not identical to the original molded part.  I designed this to be more robust, adding material where possible to improve its strength.  It should be printed with 100% infill.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWhile I made this part using PETG, this was only for fit and operational testing at room temperature.  Due to the temperature extremes in an automotive interior, a higher temperature range material should be used.  While polycarbonate filaments are strong and will withstand high temperatures, it can be brittle at extremely cold temperatures.  PA (nylon) filaments should provide better cold temperature performance.  These high performance materials require annealing to achieve their full strength.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis was printed using Creality PETG filament with standard settings using my QIDI Tech Q1 Pro.  I used organic\/tree supports and printed the slider standing up with the detent end of the part against the build plate.  This orientation is preferred in order for the ball bearing hole to be smooth.  For strength, this part needs to have very good layer adhesion.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis was designed using Onshape and is public. On the central switch plate, most cars will have a switch blank - this design replaces that, to give a more factory look. You can then mount the Grom unit behind the stero, just to the side by the glovebox, and route the cables back through the tunnel, and then into this switch. Requires the whole centre console to come out, but plenty of guides online on how to do that. It's designed to be tight, so take care and patience when fitting the USB especially. There is also a small bracing piece you can snap onto the rear just to give it a bit more strength and hopefully prevent the plug from ever moving. For best results, sand with a 2500+ paper to get it to look more OEM. From the factory there was a wiring harness that mounts to this hole. But if you have done a motor swap or a tucked harness then there are mounting holes in the fuel rail which are left empty. These clips pop into those holes and then you can attach 3\/8 silicone hose. Honestly I think for most Honda guys this won't be very useful. Because if you are doing a tucked harness you probably won't use the stock fuel rail anyway. However if you have a K swapped miata or 240sx or BMW these clips work great to route your IACV and PCV hoses. Edit: Might suggest using a jam nut arrangement. Here's why, I wanted the knob on tight so I gave the knob another twist and forgot just how much force a threads really impart. Split the knob and the top came off.
