The recess in the bottom of the part is meant for a bolt that has a 8.2mm diameter and 3mm deep head, with a 4.8mm threaded section. Although these dimensions can be altered to fit whatever hardware you may have. Rotate the piece so the two holes for the screw are facing the bottom. You are meant to drill the two small holes into the floor pan. and bolt it into place from underneath the car.
