You simply remove the old badge. Put this in it's place, create a new badge and then mount your new badge to the ring. It's needed because the stock mounting point is not flat causing issues when mounting a new flat badge.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eMy suggestion would be to make a new badge from clear Plexiglas (maybe 5-10% larger that the default badge) using a stencil on the back side and multiple layers of spray paint. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eI'm using this on a 2017 Tacoma. It should also work fine on a 2016.
