I cut them from craft foam sheets and glued them on. There is also a channel in the back to install 1\/4\" window sealing tape if you like.\u003cbr\u003eThe hole in the base is to run the wire through.\u003cbr\u003eI originally bought a set of speaker adapters from an online stereo parts store. They sucked. They didn't seal to the speaker or car door. They made the woofers sound dead. These are a HUGE improvement.
