About this part
Like many Ford Maverick owners, I was frustrated by the infamous gap in the interior door handle area. This remix is based on an excellent original design that did a great job filling that gap and improving the overall appearance of the door panel (see https://makerworld.com/en/models/167297-ford-maverick-truck-interior-door-handle-v1#profileId-183676 for the original). I really wanted to make the original work long-term, but after extended daily use, I found that it simply wasn’t durable enough to survive the constant opening and closing of the door without eventually cracking or breaking off.
I experimented with multiple filament types and various infill densities hoping to improve durability, but the same failure kept occurring. In addition, I noticed that the handle rubbing against the arm rest was slowly damaging the arm rest itself. In my case, it actually wore a small hole into the driver-side arm rest over time.
While this remix doesn’t provide the desired “full handle” functionality and appearance that many of us would like, it does satisfy my personal goal of adding a nice splash of color to the interior. It gives the door panel a more customized look.
If you own a 2025 Ford Maverick and want a more durable solution to the interior door handle gap problem, this remix may be exactly what you’re looking for. While not tested, this design will likely work for 2022-2024 model Mavericks as well.
