Shift Lever Ball Seat – 1999 Honda Civic

3D-printed replacement shift lever ball seat made for the 1999 Honda Civic: a simple way to replace a cracked, lost or hard-to-find original part.

About this part

I purchased the shift lever (that is linked below) on Amazon for a replacement on my Civic. Turns out that the OE shifter ball diameter is around 55 mm and the replacement that they sent is approximately 53 mm. I don't really see the point in putting in a new shift lever that just flops in the wind, so I modeled a replica of the original seat with the new dimensions. There are two options. The "OE" style (ball_spring), and a solid version (half_solid).

I ended up using the solid version since it is less prone to layer separation (I still included the other option in case someone wanted it). All that is needed for the solid version is to print two copies, the rubber boot that covers the seat will naturally hold it all together. For the installation, I used the grease that is in the pictures.

Besides this flaw in their design the shift lever is great. Hope this helps anyone with the same issue. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
