Turns out that the OE shifter ball diameter is around 55 mm and the replacement that they sent is approximately 53 mm.  I don't really see the point in putting in a new shift lever that just flops in the wind, so I modeled a replica of the original seat with the new dimensions.  There are two options.  The \"OE\" style (ball_spring), and a solid version (half_solid).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eI ended up using the solid version since it is less prone to layer separation (I still included the other option in case someone wanted it).  All that is needed for the solid version is to print two copies, the rubber boot that covers the seat will naturally hold it all together.  For the installation, I used the grease that is in the pictures.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBesides this flaw in their design the shift lever is great. Hope this helps anyone with the same issue.
