Jeep Wrangler TJ 3D printed parts replace the small plastic pieces that sun, water and trail vibration destroy: fan knobs, hood rod clips, switch panels, visor mounts, caps and drain plugs. Our library has 107 STL files for the 1997–2006 TJ. Single files cost €5.99 to €14.99, or €49.99 for the full pack.

Get the TJ pack →The TJ is not a normal car. The doors come off, the top folds down and the floor has drain plugs so you can wash it out. That freedom is hard on interior plastics. Knobs bake in the sun, clips get brittle, and small parts disappear on the trail.
Many TJs are now between 20 and almost 30 years old. Some original pieces are hard to find, and others come only in bigger assemblies. A printed part fixes the one piece you need. This guide shows what the TJ library contains, what the designers say about their files, and how to choose a material that survives an open Jeep.
Why TJ plastics fail faster than most
Three things work against a Wrangler interior at the same time. Knowing them helps you pick the right file and the right filament.
- Direct sun. With the top down, the dashboard, knobs and switch panels get full UV. Plastic fades, then cracks.
- Water and dirt. Rain, mud and hose-outs reach parts that a closed car never exposes. Missing floor drain plugs let water and dust in.
- Vibration. Solid axles and off-road use shake every clip and mount. A weak clip lets the hood support rod rattle loose.
The good news: most of these parts are small, simple and quick to print. You can also print a spare and keep it in the glovebox.
What the 107 TJ files cover
We grouped the TJ files by part type. Mounts and knobs lead the list, which fits a Jeep that owners love to customise and that eats its HVAC knobs.
| Part type | Files | Where on the TJ | Suggested material |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mounts | 13 | Sun visors, phones, accessories | ASA, ABS or nylon |
| Knobs | 12 | Fan and HVAC controls | ASA |
| Switches | 9 | Lower dash, auxiliary lights | ASA or PETG |
| Console parts | 8 | Centre console and storage | PETG or ASA |
| Vents | 8 | Dashboard air vents | ASA |
| Clips | 7 | Hood prop rod, trim | Nylon or PETG |
| Caps | 7 | Bumper ends, fillers | ASA |
| Speaker parts | 7 | Sound bar and dash speakers | ASA or PETG |
| Covers | 7 | Holes, screws, openings | ASA or PETG |
| Panels | 6 | Switch and blanking panels | ASA |
These ten groups hold 84 files. The other 23 are one-off parts, such as floor drain plugs and small adapters.
Designer notes worth reading before you print
Each TJ file comes from an independent designer, credited on the product page. Their notes often contain the most useful fit advice. Here is what they report. We pass on their notes; we have not fitted every part ourselves.
Fan and HVAC knobs
The 1997–1998 Wrangler fan control knob has a small notch you can fill with paint to show the direction. The designer says it is for dashboards that use sliders for vent mode and heat mix. If your TJ uses knobs for all controls, it may not fit. A second design, the 1997 Jeep TJ fan knob, was drawn in Fusion 360 for 1997 and later TJs.
Hood prop rod clips
The TJ hood rod clips into the underside of the hood when closed. Two designs exist. The '97 TJ prop rod clip (part no. 55075 480AB) was changed from a square to a round plug because the hole in that hood is round. The 2006 TJ/LJ hood support rod clip was test fitted on a 2006 LJ, and the designer expects it to fit TJs as well. Check the hole in your hood first.
Sun visor mount
The 1997–2006 Wrangler sun visor mount was built to replace an original that kept being glued back together. The designer gives clear settings: ABS or nylon (maybe PETG), 0.1 mm layer height and 40–50% infill. They also warn that ABS shrinks a little, so the main hole may need light reaming.
Lower switch panel
The TJ lower switch panel is a three-part design. It uses #10-32 screws and captured nuts to hold the faceplate, so you can reach the switches and wiring later. Print the brackets mirrored, plus one face panel. The designer notes you can also cut the face panel from wood, aluminium or carbon for a stiffer result.
Floor drain plugs and bumper end cap
The floor drain plugs were designed for TPU so they seal snugly in the drain holes. The TJ bumper end cap fills the factory bumper when you remove the original bubble caps. Its designer is clear that it is cosmetic only, not a structural, towing or recovery part.

Choosing a material for an open-top Jeep
In a closed car, PETG often works for interior parts. In a TJ with the top down, assume every part will see sun. That changes the choice.
- ASA first. It resists UV and handles heat to around 95–100 °C. Use it for knobs, vents, switch panels, caps and anything on the dashboard.
- Nylon for parts that flex. Prop rod clips and visor mounts take repeated load. Nylon bends instead of snapping. Dry the filament before printing.
- TPU for seals. Drain plugs and anti-rattle pads need some give. TPU at 95A works well.
- PETG for hidden parts. Brackets under the dash or inside the console are fine in PETG.
- Skip PLA. It softens around 55–60 °C, which a black TJ dashboard can easily reach in summer.
General settings that work: 0.2 mm layers (0.1 mm for the visor mount as advised), 3–4 walls, and 30–50% infill for clips and mounts. Print clips so the layers run along the flexing arm. For a full material breakdown, see our best filament for car parts guide.
One file or the whole TJ pack?
A missing fan knob is a €5.99 fix. If you plan to keep the Jeep, the pack makes more sense. The 107 TJ files are worth €971.93 bought one by one. The Jeep Wrangler TJ pack costs €49.99, a 95% saving.
| You need | Best buy | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| One knob or clip | Single small file | €5.99 |
| Visor mount plus two clips | Three single files | €21.97 |
| A full interior refresh or a project Jeep | TJ pack, all 107 files | €49.99 |

Safety note: we never offer models for brakes, steering, seat belts, airbags, structural parts or recovery points. The bumper end cap is a cosmetic filler only.
Common mistakes
- Using a closed-car material. PETG on the dash of an open TJ fades and softens. Use ASA for anything in the sun.
- Picking the wrong knob style. Slider-type and all-knob HVAC panels differ. Check which one your TJ has.
- Not checking the hood hole. Prop rod clip designs differ between round and square holes.
- Skipping the reaming step. ABS shrinks. Open the visor mount hole gently instead of forcing it on.
- Treating a cap as a load part. Never hang a strap or tow from a printed bumper end cap.
FAQ
Which Jeep Wrangler TJ parts can I 3D print?
Mostly interior and trim parts: mounts, knobs, switches, console parts, vents, clips, caps, speaker parts, covers and panels. Our library has 107 TJ files.
Do these files fit the LJ Unlimited?
Some do. The hood rod clip and drain plugs were made on a 2006 LJ. Check each product page for the fitment the designer tested.
What is the best filament for TJ knobs?
ASA. It handles heat and UV much better than PLA or PETG, which matters with the top down.
Do you send a physical part?
No. You get a digital STL file and print it yourself or at any local or online print shop.
My part is not in the library. What now?
Send us a photo of the broken part through the contact page and request a model.
