Rear Speaker Box – 1998-2005 Mazda Mx-5 Miata NB
3D printable replacement rear speaker box made for the 1998-2005 Mazda Mx-5 Miata NB: download the STL file and print a replacement for a cracked, lost or hard-to-find original part.
About this part
Simple box/tube for installing 10 cm speakers behind the seats in a Mazda Miata / MX-5 NB (don't know if NA looks the same).
It's secured using the original screws on either side, the ones with the plastic cone-thing.
Thus no drilling in the car needed. Though drilling is needed in the tube/tower for the speakers screws.
Should be noted if it's not clear from the pictures, my car has no soft-top, only hardtop.
There is not space for these if you still have a soft-top.
My speakers are 50 mm deep so I made the tower/tube 55 mm.
Yes, the speakers are small, but I had them so in they went.
Yes the tubes are ugly, I made the model in https://www.tinkercad.com/ and for some reason the smoothest you can get a cylinder is "64 sides".
I printed in cheap PLA, https://www.3dprima.com/se/filament/3d-prima-basic-pla-1-75mm-1-kg-grey/a-26002
Again, it's what I had on hand.
