BMW Z4 E85 Windblocker Mount
3D printable bmw z4 e85 windblocker mount made for the BMW Z4: download the STL file and print a replacement for a cracked, lost or hard-to-find original part.
About this part
The Wind blocker of my Z4 did not have a place to stay when not in use. I know these mounts are available from BMW, but I decided to draw them myself. You will need to print 2 mounts and 2 spacers, mirror them in your slicer for the opposite side. You will also need to print 4 nut holders and 4 M3 nuts. The mounts are secured with 4 M3x12 mm bolts and medium size washers. Getting the nut holders with the nuts in the car is difficult, so take your time. I put a dot of hot glue on both flat sides of the 'wings' of the holders and let it cool. Then i used a thin piece of rope through the holder and nut and tied a knot in the rope. The knot is now facing the nut. Slide the holder in the hole, the wings stay horizontal. Gently pull the rope and carefully heat the metal with a heat gun at a low setting. The hotglue will slowly melt and the holder can be positioned so the hole is centered. Let the glue cool and cut the rope.
