3D-printed clip-in phone mount for the 2016 Mazda Mx-5 Miata ND, made to order as an affordable alternative to a discontinued or expensive original part.
About this part
This phone mount snaps in under the ND's screen and can be positioned anywhere in front of the hazard button or AC vent. There are two files, both require your preferred method of attaching your phone (or other device). One design has a 0.67" (17 mm) ball for use with the majority of magnetic mounts or clips. The other design is flat with a 0.25" (6 mm) through hole.
The first time you clip this in your MX-5's dash it will feel tight. Over time, depending on your climate, PETG may soften and the mount will expand a bit, but will still be functional. A filament with a higher Tg , such as ABS or ASA, may be advised. PLA is not recommended.
This mount has been used in my '19 ND Mazda MX-5 Miata in Texas. I cannot say with 100% certainty whether or not it fits previous or later ND models.
