About this part
This bolt-in mount allows you to clip in a FRS or GMRS handheld transmitter to the wind screen of an ND Mazda MX-5 Miata. I used 16mm M3 screws with countersunk washers on the heads. The top screws just thread into the plastic. The bottom screws go through and are secured with nuts and flat washers. I printed the pieces with PETG and they're holding up OK in the Texas heat.
UPDATE: R2.0 has a 21.5mm opening for the radio clip. R3.0 has a 24mm opening. Both work with the same R2.0 back piece.
I've tried a few different hand-held radios with it:
- The Retevis RT22 will not fit either design (the clip I have is too wide).
- The Radtel RT-470X fits both, but is tight in R2.0.
- The Baofeng G11S fits both.
- The Baofeng UV-5R fits both, but R2.0 was designed specifically for this radio.
- The Talkpod A36plus fits the R3.0.
